We've been told that race registration will be open at the first training session, so bring your checkbook (or just one check). The cost is $31 if you sign up before June 25th ($30 for CTC members) and $40 after June 25th . Remember, the training program and the race are separate registrations.
The Pink Ladies are really looking forward to this summer. We've got great speakers lined up, some cool door prizes, lots of music. Some new faces and some familiar faces too.
If you have a chance, try and make one of the early registration sessions on Thursday or Friday (the 14th and 15th). The details are on the registration form. It's a good time to meet some "Pinks" and ask questions too.

What is the date of the race this year ?
The race is Saturday, September 1st. It's the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend.
The training program registration form said to bring a folding chair, but I talked to a woman who did the training last year, and she said they just used the bleachers. So do we need to bring a chair or not?
Thanks!!
There's a small section of bleachers still there, but it's not big enough to accomodate everyone. Also if you sit on the bleachers you'll be in the direct sun, but if you bring a chair or towel you can sit in the shade. Personally I found it wasn't that bad to just stand at the back and stretch while the talking was going on.
All of the bleachers are gone. Some people don't like sitting on the ground or have a difficult time getting up, so they bring chairs. Many other people either sit on a towel or the ground....or stand.
We don't want you to feel like you need to go out and buy a bunch of stuff or carry a ton of things around. I will probably do the towel thing or just sit on the ground.
We will harp on you to stay hydrated, but we'll talk about that later. :-)
I am curious about the "advanced" runners that run a spearate route each week. They start at 2mi, right? And follow the schedule on the right side of the (2006) training schedule? Is there a minumum speed for that group, or can a person who currently averages a 12-13 minute mile participate? I appologize if this has been asked and answered previously.
If you are currently running 2 miles and are at least 14 years old, you can run in the advanced group. 12-13 minute miles are fine.
