You did it!! You beat the humidity and made it to the finish line! I saw a lot of happy faces at the finish and know a lot of you hit your goals. We are so proud of all that you have accomplished this summer. We can't wait to do this all again next summer!
A great, big, huge thank you to Cynthia Lorenzoni and all her volunteers for putting on a great event. And thanks to Alison and Claire from the UVA Breast Care Center for all the help!
To celebrate and share stories, we're having a run and party Saturday at 8 at the track. Here's what you can bring:
If your last name starts with:
A-F: Gatorade, juice or water
G-M: Pastries, bagels or muffins
N-Z: Fruit, candy or goodies
Starbucks will provide the coffee!
Check out the link to the track club in the right margin. You can see what's coming up. Some of you may want to try the new 10k race in October or the Run for Shelter 5k in November. You may want to try 10-miler training too!
And for the guys, they start training for the Men's 4-miler on October 4th at the track. Let's here it for the boys.

Hi Ladies! Any idea how long of a run you are doing on Saturday?
Easy 2 miles on Sat.
Will there be pictures according to finish time like there was last year?
There was a small piece of paper in your race packet that had the web address of the photographer. Once they are posted, I'll try and add a link here.
Hello,
I presume that the Saturday celebration was cancelled due to the rain. Are you planning to hold it this Saturday?
Thank you!
The celebration was held Saturday and there were a nice showing of individuals. I am sorry that you missed it as there was fun, food, thank-yous, and shared stories.
As for this Saturday, I know some of us are going to be there! Hope you come!
Where were the celebrations held since it was raining? I must have missed the day that they announced an alternate location if it rained.
Thanks
I just read the August 25th blog entry where it mentions about meeting at the Park if it rains. I missed that.
I'm sorry that I missed the celebrations.
Hi This is for the pink ladies. I just want to know if youre going to post our pictures from the training??? thanks
We would like to make more of the electronic files of training program pictures (5000+) available w/o cost to PINKs, honored guests, and participants. The problem is posting pictures that some individuals do not want out on the public Internet.
We are open to suggestions, and have no problem linking individuals up with their chosen pictures. Note: The electronic files for the posters are all uploaded to Sam's Club. If you can get an address to me (WITHOUT posting it on the Blog), I can either email a picture file back to you and/or link you to the Sam's Club album containing a chosen poster.
Sorry, that the logistics need some help to insure privacy.

No pictures please! Legal issues!
Yes, for privacy and legal issues, we do not plan to openly "post" pictures from the training program.

PL Gail, How do we contact you? I too would like to see any pics available because this was my first time ever doing anything like this! Definitely awesome! :)
Hi - I'm still trying to keep up with my running. I spend a lot of time on the trail at Riverview because it is convenient and pretty!
If I take the trail under 250 and to the soccer fields where the paved part ends, approximately how far is that?
Thanks!
Yes, we had an awesome group of participants this year!
Since I don't want to post my email, phone, etc. on the open internet I can suggest getting this information from any Pink Lady you know or "Big Pink" our director. I am perfectly okay with this.
Congratulations on getting going! I hope you had fun. I DID! It was one of the most rewarding "jobs" that I've ever held.

It is 2 miles from Riverview Park to the unpaved path past the soccer field. Also, note mile markers along the way. Today, I successfully found the 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/4 marks on the pavement. Free Bridge (rt. 250; alias Richmond Rd) is close to 1 1/2 miles out from the park.
I wrote to Jim Copony, Virginia Sports Photos, www.virginiasportsphotos.com regarding the race photos. This is,unfortunately, his response:
Sorry but we didn't take photos at the 4 Miler this year. There was a mistake in the information handed out for the race. I don't think anyone took photos this year. Jim Copony
what a bum. i was excited to see the photos of the race. its my first 4 miler race.. too bad
I wonder if any of the participants supporters took pics that could be shared? That would be awesome. Even if our individual pic is not in the group, it would be cool to see the 'group' and know that you are somewhere in there!! :)
There were cameras everywhere at the race! For example, my husband and dentist took pictures some of which are on a "weekly" W4MTP poster. This poster was supposed to be displayed along with the Fun Run poster at the after race party...but I got stormed in by Hanna. Members of the Charlottesville Camera Club also were in attendance at the race to get sports pictures. There must be some secure way to share these photos among ourselves?
**PL Gail**
Maybe we could get together on Saturday (like some of us do!) the 27th at 7:45 or 8:00 and share pic info!? How does that sound? It might also get more people to show up on Saturday!!! :)
Hi Blog Master,
Some of us are still trying to meet and continue with the training. It would be nice if you posted something like your public announcements like: Bulletin Board for Post Race Runners ... or something, so that people will continue using this as a resource for connecting... Just an idea!
I'd like to create a bulletin board for that. let me look into it.
Here's what I came up with:
