When will we be doing the first timed session this season? I was gonna say "run" instead of session, but for me, that would be a lie! hehe!
Oh, sorry, forgot to add that it would also be helpful if the timed sessions were listed in the Pink Book, too.
Since running the first mile is a true milestone (no pun intended) we're going to start the timing sessions next week (July 5th). We'll do it again on the 12th. That way, if you're out of town for the holiday, you'll still be able to get a pace time. Also, if you get timed 2 weeks in a row, you can see how the 2 runs compare and base your pace group on which ever run felt better.
See you tomorrow.
Is there any way to recap what the speakers talk about? I had to miss last week 6/21 and will probably have to miss tomorrow. I've been walking with a little bit of running, though!
I've been reading a little bit about cross training but I coldn't find enough. Is there a way to get more info.?
Today was my first day at the training program for the 4 miler. It was suggested to join in with the Newcomers group, however I think maybe I should be in the Intermediate group because I've been running on my own for a year now. I've never run or trained for a race, but I ususally run about 2 miles 3 times a week and walk 2 twice a week. I've never taken an actual measurement of my distance so it may even be more than 2 miles. Today I did not have trouble running the mile on the track. Anyway, my question, is it possible to jump into the next level next week and not be behind. I would like to find my pace still also. Suggestions anyone.
Yes, I would suggest trying the intermediate group. We went 1.75 miles today with the intermediates. Although there were some hills, there was also some shade!
During this week the Intermediate Rookie Runs will be 1.5 miles---and it is okay to mix running and walking in the intermediate group.
You will have a better feel for your pace after next Saturday (or the week after) when you can get timed at the track.
I hope this helps.
PL walking/running--or "whatever"
Is there any way to recap what the speakers said. I was unable to make it this past weekend and I was interested in what she had to say.
Thanks!
